Ashley Giles had no problems with Kevin Pietersen during England career

Ashley Giles has insisted he got on "very well" with Kevin Pietersen during their time together with England.
The former England spinner and limited-overs coach also revealed that he never had "any major issues" with the senior players singled out for criticism in Pietersen's controversial autobiography.
Pietersen, expelled from the England set-up following the Ashes whitewash last winter, has lifted the lid on what he described as a bullying culture within the squad and claimed Matt Prior was among the worst offenders.
He accused Prior and the likes of James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann of intimidating the younger members of the team and lambasting them for mistakes in the field.
Pietersen's character has also been called into question in an ECB dossier into his removal from the squad, but Giles insists he was unaware of any problems in the dressing room during his time as a player or coach.
"I was in the same dressing room and got on very well with Kevin," said Giles at his unveiling as cricket director at Lancashire, where he has succeeded Mike Watkinson.
"But it was similar with the other guys as well, I coached them and I never had any major issues with any of them."
Giles was reminded that he labelled Pietersen as a "multi-million pound asset" shortly before his sacking, and he believes the batsman is highly unlikely to play for his country again.
"He would still consider himself a multi-million pound asset I’m sure. He’s that sort of player, he’s ‘The Big Show’ if you like," Giles added.
"But things have unfolded and he’s not going to play for England again by the looks of it. I’m sure it’s disappointing for him, but everyone has to move on."
Meanwhile, Pietersen's accusations against Prior in particular have been dismissed by the wicketkeeper's Sussex team-mate Michael Yardy, who played alongside both during his 28 one-day and 14 Twenty20 international appearances.
Yardy said: "I think Matt is one of those guys that puts the team first and he will voice his opinions. Unfortunately, sometimes with that you get labelled certain things, but Matt is 100% a team man and someone who cares about the team.
"By all accounts, he played a huge part in getting KP back into the England team after the South Africa series, so I'm sure he's deeply hurt and feels very disappointed.
"But I don't think anyone would like to be labelled a bully or anything like that. I've known Matt for years and I've certainly never seen that side of him."
