Sunil Narine hands Kolkata Knight Riders boost ahead of IPL opener with Mumbai

Sunil Narine will play for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League this season after receiving clearance following a review of his bowling action.
The spinner’s bowling action came under scrutiny during his participation in last year’s Champions League Twenty20 in India, leading to his suspension from BCCI (Board of Cricket Control India) tournaments.
The West Indies bowler, who has not played international cricket since last August, had been cleared by the International Cricket Council in March after undergoing testing at Loughborough University.
But the BCCI requested Narine undergo a further test at Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai on Thursday.
And a panel of experts headed up by former Indian fast bowler Javagal Srinath has now given the 26-year-old green light to play in the IPL.
That means Narine will be available to play for defending champions Kolkata in the tournament opener against Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens on April 8, live on Sky Sports.
