Jack Taylor powered a 71-ball ton as Gloucestershire recorded a stunning Specsavers County Championship win over Worcestershire at New Road.

Taylor (107no off 72) and Michael Klinger (102no off 141) cracked an unbroken 179 for the sixth wicket from 142 balls as Gloucestershire reached their victory target of 315 in 57.4 overs after Craig Miles (5-54) had helped dismiss Worcestershire for 239 earlier in the day.

Taylor creamed 11 fours and six sixes in his scintillating knock, though it was Klinger's maximum off spinner Brett D'Oliveira that sealed Gloucester's triumph, shortly after a brief suspension of play due to bad light.

The visitors were rewarded for a positive declaration on day three, skipper Gareth Roderick calling his side in on 364-6 in their first innings, 75 runs behind Worcestershire's 439 all out.

Gloucestershire's second victory of the campaign propelled them up to second in Division Two, while Worcestershire - for whom Ross Whiteley scored 71 on Wednesday - sit fourth.

Second-placed Kent and fifth-placed Leicestershire were forced to settle for a draw at Canterbury after heavy rain and bad light prevented any play for the second day running.

Kent's stalemate was their fifth in seven matches, with Leicestershire, who have drawn four of their six, now winless since beating Glamorgan by 10 wickets in their season opener.
