Gareth Berg has signed a one-year extension to his contact with Hampshire which keeps him at the club until the end of next season.

The former Middlesex all-rounder joined Hampshire ahead of their 2015 season and impressed with bat and ball, scoring 672 runs and taking 42 wickets.

He has missed much of this season with injury but is now fully restored to the team as they bid to avoid relegation from Division One.

"I'm loving every minute at this county," Berg told the club's website. "I feel like this is the place I should have been a long time ago, and it's where I want to end my career.

"I've been in a good head space with the team, and my bowling has been pretty rock solid. I'm just over the moon that the club have rewarded me with an extension to my services.

"I have a lot of wise heads around me, just telling me to go out there and do what I do best - hitting a length, taking wickets and adding runs with the bat too.
