Kent's Matt Coles celebrates Beckenham wicket with slug celebration
Thursday 6 July 2017 11:08, UK
Matt Coles sparked fits of laughter among his Kent team-mates with his celebration at taking a wicket during their clash with Northants.
The seamer lived up to his nickname when he performed what appears to be a slug impersonation (seemed more like a caterpillar) when he dismissed Steven Crook for 12 towards the end of the third day's play at Beckenham.
Wicket-keeper Sam Billings collapsed in laughter once he caught sight of Coles writhing around on the floor.
And there was more reaction from players when Billings posted footage of the celebration on his Instagram page after play concluded.
Billings' England team-mate Alex Hales called it "incredible" while Yorkshire bowler Jack Brooks could only manage an "Oh wow!"
The Division Two clash comes to an end on Thursday with a draw seeming almost certain.
A total of 1,229 runs were scored in the first three days for the loss of only 14 wickets so it was no surprise to see Coles (2-108) celebrate so heartily when he managed to claim one.
