England one-day international batsman Sam Billings has dislocated his finger while keeping wicket for Kent.

Billings, part of the England team which defeated New Zealand in a thrilling Royal London Cup series this summer, injured himself in an LV= County Championship match away to Derbyshire.

He is optimistic, however, that he will be fit for the forthcoming ODI and T20 matches against Australia and the Royal London Cup quarter-finals.

Kent tweeted on their official feed: "Sam Billings has dislocated a finger and has gone to hospital for a precautionary X-Ray."

Later, Billings tweeted: "Not broken just sore, should be fine for the QF... Phewwww."
