England one-day international batsman Sam Billings has dislocated his finger while keeping wicket for Kent.
Billings, part of the England team which defeated New Zealand in a thrilling Royal London Cup series this summer, injured himself in an LV= County Championship match away to Derbyshire.
He is optimistic, however, that he will be fit for the forthcoming ODI and T20 matches against Australia and the Royal London Cup quarter-finals.
Kent tweeted on their official feed: "Sam Billings has dislocated a finger and has gone to hospital for a precautionary X-Ray."
Later, Billings tweeted: "Not broken just sore, should be fine for the QF... Phewwww."
England are expected to announce their squad to face the World Cup holders in one Twenty20 international and five ODIs, after the conclusion of the ongoing final Investec Ashes Test.
