Wayne White has been released early from his contract with Derbyshire.
The 29-year-old all-rounder, who took four wickets for the county on his first-class debut in 2005, rejoined Derbyshire ahead of the 2015 season on a one-year deal.
In a statement on their website, the county said White will leave with immediate effect.
It added that his departure comes as Elite Performance Director Graeme Welch increases his focus on the development of his younger bowlers within the Derbyshire dressing room.
Welch said: “Wayne came here on a one-year contract and made some good contributions this summer including a couple of match-winning performances.
“With his contract up at the end of the summer and with a number of younger bowlers coming through, we have decided to part company a little earlier than anticipated.
"This gives Wayne a greater chance of securing a new contract and we wish him well for the future.”
White said: “I want to thank Derbyshire and the members for their support. It’s been a pleasure to represent the club but it is now time for a new challenge and I’m looking forward to continuing and improving in my career.”
His early career at the county was troubled by injury and he moved to Leicestershire in 2009 before switching to Lancashire for the 2013 season.
