Ben Raine signs new contract with Leicestershire

All-rounder Ben Raine has signed a new contract with Leicestershire which keeps him at Grace Road until 2019.

Raine has had a superb season for the Foxes, taking 51 first-class wickets at 27.11, and 452 runs at 20.54.

He took 14 NatWest T20 Blast wickets at 27.00 this term, adding 11 runs, and five wickets in the Royal London One Day Cup.

The all-rounder has now scored 1,170 runs and taken 115 wickets in all competitions for the club.

Raine told the club's website: "I'm really enjoying my cricket at Leicestershire County Cricket Club and I'm pleased to commit my future to the club. We are definitely moving in the right direction and have taken big strides forward this season, so there are exciting times ahead.

"I'd also like to thank Clint McKay and Charlie Shreck for all of their support. They have been like older brothers to me this season, guiding and pushing me along, and I couldn't have done it without their help."

Chief Executive Wasim Khan said: "It is terrific news for Leicestershire County Cricket Club that Ben has signed another extension with us.
