Gloucestershire batsman Hamish Marshall is set to leave the county at the end of the season after 11 years with the club.

The former New Zealand Test player joined Gloucestershire in 2006 initially as an overseas player before committing as a home-qualified player two years later.

The 37-year-old, who is the county's highest T20 run-scorer with more than 2,537 runs, is returning to his native country where he hopes to continue his playing career in New Zealand.

Marshall said: "I have had 11 incredible years at Gloucestershire and would like to thank my team-mates, the staff and the supporters for making it such a memorable time.

"I have so many amazing memories from my time here but the highlight has to be winning the Royal London One-Day Cup at Lord's last year, that is something that will stay with me forever."

Marshall has scored over 13,800 first-class runs including 28 centuries, nearly 7,000 in one-day cricket and 2,700 in T20 matches.

He was also part of the side that guided the Gloucestershire to victory at the Royal London One-Day Cup, beating Surrey by six runs in a thrilling Lord's final.
