David Lloyd says Chris Jordan's Super Over heroics in the final T20 international against Pakistan might just have secured his spot in England's World T20 squad next spring.
Jordan took a wicket and conceded only three runs as England secured a 3-0 series whitewash, but the Sussex quick didn't play in the second match as the tourists rotated their team.
England are scheduled to play only two more T20Is against South Africa before the World T20 in March and with most of the squad impressing in the UAE, Lloyd says tough decisions lie ahead for the selectors.
"Everyone will be looking forward to what the T20 World Cup squad might be, and Jordan would have been one of the players who would have been thinking: 'Am I going to make it, am I not?'," said Lloyd.
"He might now have got himself a spot on that trip with an awesome, brilliant over.
"I wouldn't like to pick the XI. There are going to be two or three lads who are going to be disappointed if they're not in this team.
"Competition for places is healthy, they have got players who can slot into different positions, but it's going to be tough on a few of the guys.
"Can Joe Root and James Vince play in the same team for example? Is Vince the back-up for Root? Do they want to stick with Alex Hales and Jason Roy as an opening partnership?
"I can't wait for it though, as I think England have a real chance.
"It will be very demanding in India, conditions very similar to what we have seen here [in the UAE], with pitches that will spin a touch.
"But they have found out during this series that even when they're put under the cosh, they can bounce back.
"The captain Eoin Morgan has been awesome. The team all want to play for him, and it shows, the way they enjoy their cricket."
