Jos Buttler has credited his impressive return to Test cricket with England to his stint in the Indian Premier League earlier this year.

The 27-year-old returned to the England side earlier this month for the two-Test series against Pakistan, 18 months after he was dropped from the team following a run of poor form.

That came on the back of Buttler's strong form in the IPL with the Rajasthan Royals, where he finished as the competition's sixth-highest run scorer.

Asked what was behind his effective return to the Test arena, Buttler replied: "Those couple of weeks in the IPL gave me huge amounts of confidence - playing in front of those crowds, the pressure of being an overseas player.

"The tough thing with Test cricket is that if you get out early, you've got a long time to think about it. In T20, you just move on."
