England have been drawn against hosts and defending champions Windies in the group stages of November's ICC Women's World Twenty20.

Heather Knight's side, the reigning 50-over World Cup champions after defeating India at Lord's last July, will also play South Africa, Sri Lanka and a qualifier in Group A of a tournament they won in 2009.

Three-time champions Australia - beaten by Windies in the 2016 final in Kolkata - will face India, New Zealand, Pakistan and another qualifier in Group B as the Women's World T20 is staged for a sixth time.

"We're really excited about the World T20 in the Caribbean," said England skipper Knight. "It's an amazing chance to become double world champions but we have a lot of hard work to do first."

England will play Sri Lanka on November 10 in Saint Lucia, before fixtures against the qualifier (November 12), South Africa (November 16) and Windies (November 18).

"We showed in India in our tri-series that we're capable of playing very good T20 cricket, but we need to keep improving as a side and add more consistency to our game," added Knight, whose side smashed a Women's T20I record total of 250 against South Africa at Taunton on June 20.
