David Warner remains Australia vice-captain after Quinton de Kock spat

David Warner will remain in his post as Australia's vice-captain as the fallout continues from his ugly off-field spat with South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock.

CCTV footage emerged on Monday of a seemingly furious Warner attempting to remonstrate with De Kock in the stairwell outside the players' respective dressing rooms during the tea interval on day four of the first Test at Durban.

After Australia sealed a 118-run victory, the focus was squarely on who or what caused the bust-up, with recriminations on both sides as both Warner and De Kock were accused of making alleged derogatory comments of a personal nature.

The matter is now in the hands of the International Cricket Council, but Warner has the full backing of Australia coach Darren Lehmann.

"He's vice-captain of the Australian cricket team. We're certainly supporting David," Lehmann told Cricket Australia's official website.

"We want to play a way that gets us success and for us we've just got to make sure we don't cross the line, that's the key.

"I'm sure the coaches will chat and the captains will chat and we'll get away to play the game," added Lehmann, ahead of the second Test in Port Elizabeth, which is live on Sky Sports Cricket from 7.55am on Friday.

"Both sides are going to push the boundaries. That's part and parcel of the game. It's tough out there."
