England and Australia can expect good Ashes wicket

England and Australia can expect a "really good cricket wicket" at Edgbaston for the third Test in the Investec Ashes Series.
After England’s landslide defeat in the second Test at Lord’s, head coach Trevor Bayliss said the unresponsive pitch had played into the hands of Australia rather than the hosts.
The wicket for the first Test at Cardiff, which England won, was also relatively slow, prompting much debate in recent days about how the Edgbaston pitch might play when the third Test gets underway on Wednesday.
Warwickshire director of cricket Dougie Brown is confident there will be a little bit more pace on offer to both sets of bowlers but feels the weather will also play part in how the surface plays.
"It will be a really good cricket wicket,” Brown told Sky Sports News HQ.
"It’s carried so nicely so if you bowl well the nicks will carry to slips. There’s a bit more pace in these surfaces generally than what we get around the country generally.
"That being said the weather has not been very good so the pitch might be a bit slower than we ideally would like but a lot of it is about overheads.
"If it’s cloudy the ball will swing a bit and if the sun’s out it will be quite good to bat on . It will provide a bit for everybody. It doesn’t necessarily spin a great deal but it’s just a good cricket wicket."
