Pakistan's cricket board have banned left-arm spinner Raza Hasan for two years after he tested positive for cocaine.

He played a one-day international and 10 Twenty20 matches for the national side.

Hasan made his T20I debut for Pakistan against Australia in UAE in September, 2012. Excellent form during his Under-19 days and a good Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand prompted the selectors to pick him for the ‘A’ series against England Lions in UAE.

He finished with impressive figures of 2/12 earning Pakistan a place in the semi-final.

This is the first time any cricket player has tested positive for the use of cocaine. Hasan will join Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif in the list of players from Pakistan to have been suspended for taking banned substances. He could also face a police investigation.

"Raza Hasan has been banned for two years from all cricket after failing a dope test," the Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement.
