Opener Aiden Markram will make his South Africa Test debut in the first Test against Bangladesh next week, live on Sky Sports.
A former U19 captain, Markram gets his chance alongside Dean Elgar at the top of the order in Potchefstroom in Ottis Gibson's first game as coach.
Andile Phehlukwayo is also in contention for a first five-day cap, with Charles Morris, Dale Steyn and Vernon Philander all missing and Wayne Parnell an injury doubt.
Both Markram and Phehlukwayo were part of the Test squad that toured England earlier this summer, and Cricket South Africa national selection panel convener Linda Zondi said: "Aiden has been knocking on the door for some time now.
"He gained valuable insight into the Proteas team culture during the tour of England and he has shown maturity beyond his years."
The two-Test series begins next Thursday, with the second game schedule for October 6-10 in Bloemfontein.
