Skipper will miss Tuesday's CB Series match against Sri Lanka

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been banned for one match by the International Cricket Council for a slow over-rate during a one-day international for the second time in a year. India were found guilty of the offence during the Commonwealth Bank Series defeat to Australia in Brisbane, where they were found to be two overs short of their target at the end of the match. Dhoni was fined 40% of his match fee while each of his players were fined 20%. The India skipper was also given a one-match ban as his side were also sanctioned for a slow over-rate during last year's World Cup final against Sri Lanka. Dhoni, who pleaded guilty to the charge as both he and his team accepted the penalties, will now miss Tuesday's Commonwealth Bank Series match against Sri Lanka in Brisbane. It is the second time on this tour that Dhoni has been suspended. He missed the last Test against Australia at Adelaide due to India's slow over-rate in the third match of the series. India lost the series 4-0.
