Pakistan skipper expecting tough matches in Asia Cup
Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq expects India and Sri Lanka to bounce back from their Australian experiences in the Asia Cup, which starts on Sunday.
Both sides were seen off by Australia in the recent Commonwealth Bank Series, while prior to that India were thrashed 4-0 by the Aussies in their Test series down under.
Misbah, though, feels those setbacks will not have done the two sides any harm.
"I think the way they have played cricket in Australia, it will always be difficult... to play against them as they have played tough cricket over there," Misbah said.
"To compete with them we have to work very hard and have to improve our performance."
Forget
Pakistan will also come into the four-team tournament - it also features Bangladesh - on the back of a poor one-day series. They were whitewashed 4-0 by England last month.
However, Misbah is not dwelling on that result. "Every game and every series is a different ball game," he added. "You can't just stick to the series that you have lost.
"If you look at the series before we won six series in a row, I think this is part of the game. What we want to do is just forget the one-day series and just look forward."
Pakistan take on hosts Bangladesh in Mirpur on Sunday in the opening game of the tournament. India then meet Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
All the teams will face each other once in a group stage with the top two meeting in the final in Mirpur on March 22.
