Wolverhampton's Wayne Jones is among Grand Slam of Darts qualifiers

Wayne Jones, Mervyn King, Steve Beaton, Mark Webster, Steve West, Jonny Clayton, Andy Boulton and Robbie Green have qualified for the Grand Slam of Darts.

They won their places at the Wolverhampton tournament through a PDC Qualifier held in Coventry on Friday.

The Grand Slam of Darts will be live on Sky Sports between November 7-15.

Home favourite Jones will make a return to the Wolves Civic stage for the tournament, after coming through from over 160 players to claim on of eight spots in the PDC Qualifier.

The 2010 Grand Slam semi-finalist defeated Kevin Painter, Andrew Gilding, James Wilson and Devon Petersen as he sealed his place in the tournament for the first time since 2012.

The eight players who lost in the day's final round of games also played off for reserve places, if needed, for the tournament, with South African ace Devon Petersen the first reserve, Jelle Klaasen second reserve and Vincent van der Voort third reserve.

The final two automatic places in the Grand Slam of Darts will be awarded to the finalists of the European Championship, with at least one further qualifier to come from the Players Championship winners based on the final ProTour Order of Merit standings, which would currently be Ian White.
