Peter ‘Snakebite’ Wright has warned that he’ll bring his full array of cartoonish antics into a dream match against Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams.

Wright's trademark hair and trousers - as colourful as his personality - have been criticised by BDO player Adams who is joining the PDC's finest in the Grand Slam of Darts.

You can watch the Wolverhampton tournament live on Sky Sports between November 7-15 - and Wright is hoping for revenge against Adams for his alleged comments.

"He's said that I'm a clown, but at least this clown works in the biggest circus," Wright told Sky Sports.

"He's just said a few words about me recently. I won't be lowering myself to his level. I don't know why he would criticise me.

Wright insists that he has known Adams for years until they chose different paths - with 'Snakebite' plying his trade in the PDC and 'Wolfie' going to the BDO.

But Wright still harbours one memory when Adams mentioned his notorious choice of trousers - and he's vowed to send his rival back to the BDO as a loser.

What if Martin Adams play Phil Taylor?

Wright said: "I've known Martin for years, I played in the same county side as him. When I was at Lakeside in 1995, I came off the stage and Martin shook my hand and congratulated me.

"He said 'I can't wait to see you in red trousers'.

"I said: 'I'm Scottish, mate - you won't see me in red trousers'.

Last year's finalist Peter 'Snakebite' Wright made a strong start with an impressive 3-0 win over debutant Gerwyn Price.

"I'm looking forward to putting him back in his place. I'll show him a thing or two - easy.

"It won't be long before I start winning these titles. I know that I'm at the level of the top guys in the world.

"I've got more to come - they've peaked and I haven't."
