Gary Anderson came out to an incredible atmosphere in front of his home crowd in Glasgow

Gary Anderson was given a hero's welcome as he made an epic entrance on home soil at Glasgow's SSE Hydro on Thursday night.

Anderson claimed his fifth straight Premier League victory on the oche in front of his home fans as he averaged 102.68 to beat Simon Whitlock 7-4 and end a four-match winless streak.

Spurred on by 10,000 fans in Scotland, Anderson produced the goods to move into fifth place, level on seven points with Simon Whitlock.

Anderson says he hopes to play on for a few more years yet despite suffering from a continuing bad back

The 2018 Premier League heads to the SSE Arena in Belfast next Thursday, with coverage underway from 7pm on Sky Sports Action & from 9.45pm on Sky Sports Main Event. Seven weeks of tungsten action will then continue through to the season's conclusion with the Play-Offs on May 17 at The O2 in London.
