Michael van Gerwen nailed a spectacular double-double 94 finish during his shock defeat to Peter Wright in Rotterdam on Wednesday night.
The Dutch ace suffered a shock defeat in front of his home fans as Peter Wright upset a raucous crowd to down the world No 1 for the second time in this season's competition, despite Van Gerwen recording an average of 106.87.

The Scot stormed into a 5-2 lead without missing a double with checkouts of 98, 84 and 71, before Van Gerwen mounted a great comeback.
He hit finishes of 122, 94 and 148 to level the scores at 5-5 but Wright held his nerve to win the next two legs and seal two vital points.
