Aston Martin Valkyrie: Track version of car designed by Adrian Newey

Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro to pull speeds of nearly 250mph and has been designed for tracks

Red Bull and Aston Martin have revealed the first look at the 250mph track-only version of the Adrian Newey-designed Valkyrie hypercar.

The two companies, who are strengthening their ties in F1 next year, have previously released images of the road version of the Valkyrie ahead of its 2019 launch and now given the world a first look at what is being described as the "no-holds-barred" track-only edition, which will be released a year later.

Named the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro, the car has a 6.5 litre Cosworth-built V12 engine and F1-inspired carbon brakes producing a deceleration of 3.5g.

Only 25 cars are being built and all are already sold.

"While it is endowed with extraordinary performance, it has always been vitally important to me that the Valkyrie functions well as a true road car, and that naturally comes with some constraints," said Newey, who now splits his time between the F1 team and other Red Bull projects.

"However, with the track-only Valkyrie AMR Pro we have the freedom to create an extreme evolution that makes no such concessions.

"While the core elements of the road and track versions are shared, every aspect of the AMR Pro - aerodynamics, chassis, powertrain and weight - has been optimised to significantly extend the performance envelope.

"It offers a level of track performance significantly beyond any previous two-seat closed-roof car."

The owners of the exclusive car will receive an extra perk for the huge outlay - access to the same training facilities as Red Bull's F1 drivers, including simulator time, on-track tuition and fitness regimes.
