Dutch champions sign midfielder from rivals Twente
Ajax have completed their swoop for FC Twente ace Theo Janssen in a reported €3million (£2.6m) deal.
The 29-year-old, a key performer for Twente this term, has joined the Eredivisie champions on a two-year contract, with the option for a third year.
Janssen, voted player of the season by Dutch newspaper
De Telegraaf, has scored 13 times in 30 league games this campaign.
The Netherlands international, capped five times for his country, previously played for Vitesse in his hometown of Arnhem before moving to Enschede in 2008.
He has starred for Twente in a campaign which saw them narrowly miss out on the league title to Ajax.
Twente are thought to be lining up Kevin Strootman as a replacement for Janssen at De Grolsch Veste.
The young midfielder has impressed for FC Utrecht since arriving from Sparta Rotterdam in January, earning a call-up to the Holland national side and his first cap for his country.
