After suffering a 4-2 humbling at NAC Breda last week, Ajax bounced back to form in devastating fashion at the Amsterdam ArenA.
Ronald Koeman's troops warmed up for the midweek Champions League clash with Club Brugge with a comprehensive victory over Willem.
Wesley Sonck (pictured) poached the opening goal on 16 minutes and Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic doubled the lead just before the half-hour mark.
After the break, Ajax powered further clear with Wesley Sneijder netting a third goal before his effort was added to by Viktor Sikora, Tom Soetaers and Steven Pienaar.
Feyenoord picked up after an indifferent start to the campaign with a comfortable win at bottom club FC Zwolle, who sacked coach Peter Boeve earlier in the week.
The visitors had to wait until the second half before breaking the deadlock as Shinji Ono fired them ahead on 53 minutes.
Anthony Lurling notched the second on 69 and two minutes later, Japanese ace Ono completed the scoring.
Vitesse Arnhem claimed their first league win of the campaign with a late surge to clinch a 3-1 triumph at Utrecht.
Nicky Hofs put the visitors ahead on 12 minutes but Belgian international Stefaan Tanghe levelled the encounter before the interval.
Mamadou Zongo proved to be the hero for Vitesse as he ended 31 months of injury hell to score on his first Eredivisie appearance since February 2001.
His 81st minute effort put Vitesse ahead for the second time and Gert Claessens put the gloss on the scoreline on 86 minutes.
Eredivisie newcomers ADO Den Haag secured their first win of the season by coming from behind to record a battling 2-1 success at NEC Nijmegen.
ADO's Jeffrey van As put through his own net on 38 minutes but second-half goals from Cedric van der Gun and Roy Stroeve turned the match on its head.
RKC Waalwijk continued their solid start to the season with a 2-0 home win over NAC Breda, courtesy of goals from Serginho Greene and Iwan Redan.
Roda JC Kerkrade and Groningen could not be separated as they shared a dour 0-0 draw.
