Dr Crokes' Johnny Buckley cleared to play in All-Ireland final

Dr Crokes footballer Johnny Buckley has been cleared to play in the All-Ireland club final against Corofin.

The former Kerry captain was shown a red card in the semi-final victory over Mullinalaghta for a first-half incident involving Aidan McElligott. It was feared that he would be suspended for the final. However, the Central Hearings Committee overturned his ban on Thursday night.

The Killarney club can now concentrate fully on their preparations for the St Patrick's Day decider at Croke Park.

The two teams last met in the 2017 semi-final, when the Kerry side won 2-11 to 0-8. In the interim, Corofin won last year's All-Ireland title, so their meeting this month is widely anticipated as the two best teams in the country prepare to go head to head.

The game will throw in at 3:45PM on March 17, with the hurling decider between Ballyhale Shamrocks and St Thomas' acting as a curtain-raiser.
