Micheál Donoghue's Galway reign extended two years

Micheál Donoghue has been ratified as Galway senior hurling manager for a further two years after a county board meeting on Tuesday night.
The Clarinbridge club-man has been at the helm since 2016, guiding the Tribesmen to the All-Ireland title last year and ending a 29-year-wait in the process.
Donoghue was appointed following the ousting of Anthony Cunningham after the 2015 season, and has overseen three hugely successful seasons at the helm.
While they were dethroned by Limerick in this year's August decider, there remains a belief that the Tribesmen are more than capable of winning back Liam MacCarthy in 2019.
Underage talent continues to pour through the ranks as they've won three of the last four All-Ireland minor titles, the future is certainly bright for the Connacht outfit.
They begin their championship preparations in Division 1B of the National Hurling League once again as they aim to hit the ground running by winning promotion.
