We’ve all had a horror shot ruin a round at some point on the golf course, but have you ever taken 16 strokes to complete one hole?
That's exactly what happened to Kevin Na during the 2011 Valero Texas Open, where he saw his opening round unravel in record-breaking fashion at the par-four ninth.
Na had made two birdies in a three-hole stretch to go under par for the day as he made his way to the 474-yard hole, where he posted a PGA Tour all-time record duodecuple-bogey - 12 over par!
After launching his tee-shot right and into dense trees, Na took a penalty and then produced a similar effort when he returned to the tee box for his third stroke.
The Korean-born American tried to play out from deep within the trees but saw his shot ricochet off a branch and then him for another penalty.
Na took a drop but hit his next shot into thicker woodland before playing his following two swings left-handed as he attempted to hack his way back into play.
After taking two further strokes, Na eventually cleared from the trees at the 12th attempt before needing three more shots to find the green.
With some confusion as to how many shots he had actually played, Na rolled in a five-footer to complete a nightmare 16.
Three birdies on the back nine didn't undo the damage for Na, who signed for an opening-round 80 on his way to missing the cut.
