Jason Day nailed one of the longest putts of the week on his way to moving back into contention at the AT&T Byron Nelson.

The world No 4 headed into the weekend 10 strokes off the pace but surged up the leaderboard with a birdie-filled 63 at TPC Four Seasons, with one shot in particular standing out from his round.

Day rolled in a 15-footer at the first and tapped in at the seventh for the first of five consecutive birdies around the turn.

The Australian missed an eight-footer to save par at the 14th but bounced back with a two-putt gain at the 16th, before delivering a special moment of the next.

After finding the far side of the green off the tee, Day judged his 60-foot birdie putt perfectly to find the middle of the cup and close the lowest round of the day.
