Min Woo Lee holds narrow lead at Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship

Min Woo Lee eagled his final hole to grab a one-shot lead at the halfway stage of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in New Zealand.

The Australian posted a three-under 68 to edge ahead of Yuxin Lin at Royal Wellington Golf Club, where the winner will secure an invite to both the Masters and Open Championship in 2018.

Overnight leader Shae Wools-Cobb lies a further stroke back in third, with home favourite Nick Voke one of five players sharing fourth spot on three under.

Starting in a share of second, Lee birdied the fifth before undoing some of the damage of blemishes at the 10th and 12th with a gain at the par-four 13th.

Lee dropped another shot at the 15th but bounced back to post back-to-back birdies over his next two holes and card an eagle-three at the par-five last.

Lin holed out from the ninth fairway - his final hole - for eagle to set the initial clubhouse target, as Wools-Cobb slipped back with four bogeys in a seven-hole stretch on the back nine.

Voke is joined on three under by Kerry Mountcastle, Lloyd Jefferson Go, Sean Maruyama and Andy Zhang, with six players heading into the weekend a further stroke back in a share of ninth.
