Ahead of his title defence, we look back at the 10 best shots from Hideki Matsuyama's 2017 Phoenix Open victory.

Ahead of Hideki Matsuyama chasing Waste Management Phoenix Open history this week, we look back at the top shots from last year’s dramatic win at TPC Scottsdale.

The Japanese star has an unbelievable record in the event, finishing runner-up to Brooks Koepka in 2015 before winning the tournament via a play-off in each of the previous two years.

A third consecutive victory in Arizona would see Matsuyama join Arnold Palmer, Gene Littler, Mark Calcavecchia and Phil Mickelson as the only three-time winners of the event, with Matsuyama having strong memories of last year's tournament.

Matsuyama began the final round 12 months ago four shots off the lead, but fired a bogey-free 66 on Sunday to join Webb Simpson on 17 under at the top of the leaderboard.

The pair exchanged pars over the first three play-off holes, before Matsuyama birdied the fourth sudden-death hole to take the title and secure a fourth win in seven starts.
