The European Tour travels to Pula for this week's Mallorca Open. European Tour stats package The Spanish island last featured on Tour in 2007 when the same venue hosted the Mallorca Classic and was held in October. However, unlike the previous Pula events which ran for five straight years from 2003 - and were staged during the autumn - this week's tournament is taking place earlier in the season when temperatures are expected to be much higher. Since hosting the inaugural event seven years ago, won by Miguel Angel Jimenez, Pula has undergone a number of changes carried out by two-time Masters' winner Jose Maria Olazabal. The course is undulating, has numerous water hazards, and with out of bounds coming into play on many holes from the tee. And Olazabal, who was expected to play this week but has had to withdraw, is a former winner at the venue having secured the Mallorca Classic title in 2005.

So who's teeing up on Thursday?

Robert-Jan Derksen: His previous three visits to Mallorca have all yielded top-12 finishes, while also posting three top-20s in his most recent four starts on Tour. Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano: The out-of-form Spaniard has only had a single top-10 finish this season but he could still prosper at this week's event which has a mediocre field. Peter Hanson: At No 68 in the world will be one of the favourites for this week's tournament. The consistent Swede was tied-for-16th on his most recent European Tour outing in Korea. Jose Manuel Lara: The Spaniard has contested all five previous Pula tournaments, and has a superb record that reads: 10th-11th-2nd-3rd-7th. However, he has suffered a string of disappointing performances this year. Thomas Levet: The Frenchman has a best finish this season of tied-third in Morocco. Can never be ruled out in these low-key events. Chris Wood: The up-and-coming Englishman tied-for-third in Sunday's Italian Open - but is still waiting a maiden Tour win.
