Vernon Kay takes on Centurion Golf Club ambassador Vinnie Jones at the play-off hole during the GolfSixes

As players prepared for the grand final of the inaugural GolfSixes, Vernon Kay used the break in play to challenge Vinnie Jones in a nearest-the-pin contest.

Kay, who has enjoyed his role as celebrity guest presenter for the Sky Sports team this week, met the former Wimbledon and Wales footballer on the specially-constructed tee that is being used as a play-off hole on the sixth.

Jones has also played an important part in the success of the innovative event in his role as ambassador for the host club, Centurion, and the sportsman-turned-actor had the honour on the 166-yard par-three by virtue of his seven-handicap against Kay's 14.

The contestants were given three shots each to clear the water and get as close as possible to the back-right hole location, although Kay claimed to be at a disadvantage as he had to borrow a set of clubs while Jones had his in the boot!
