A number of big names will tee it up at the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond this week. Skysports.com picks six players to follow.
Who will win in Scotland?
A tip-top field has arrived in Scotland for the final warm-up event before next week's Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
European Tour stats package
Twelve of the world's top-50 are in attendance at the Scottish Open which once again is being played on the banks of Loch Lomond.
But with a total prize fund of £3m at stake, the tournament is much more than just a last opportunity for the big guns to fine-tune their game ahead of next week's Major championship.
The picturesque venue, designed by Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopft and opened 14 years ago, has hosted a European Tour event every year since 1996.
Although the course is relatively flat, good course management is always important at a location where seven of the holes run alongside the beautiful Loch.
Amongst those looking to contend this week:
Ernie Els: Possesses the best course record of any player teeing-up this week. The South African is twice a winner here, having also finished second and third. Has only once been outside the top-20 in nine visits, while his last 20 rounds average out at an impressive 67.75.
Phil Mickelson: The world No. 2 will be hoping to go one better than last year when he lost a play-off to Frenchman Gregory Havret. The American has enjoyed a brace of top-10 finishes from five starts at Loch Lomond.
Colin Montgomerie: A former winner at the course and over recent weeks his form has enjoyed a slight upturn - although he did close with a disappointing 77 in last week's European Open.
Ian Poulter: Has a superb Loch Lomond record where his last five starts read: 5th-10th-4th-14th-8th.
Andres Romero: Usually plays his best golf around this time of year. The Argentinian finished second at Loch Lomond in 2006.
Adam Scott: Has made five visits to the Loch that have yielded three top-12 finishes including a tie-for-third seven years ago.
