Sir Ben Ainslie is backing Team Europe at the Ryder Cup

Sailing legend Sir Ben Ainslie knows all about winning having enjoyed a glittering career, and as a big golf fan, he's told us just why he loves the Ryder Cup.

Sir Ben is the most successful sailor in Olympic history having won four gold medals and one silver since making his debut for Team GB in Atlanta in 1996.

The 39-year-old, who is married to former Sky Sports News presenter Georgie Thompson, is passionate about golf and an avid viewer of the Ryder Cup.

He enjoys the team aspect of the competition, and he compared the incredible European comeback in the Miracle at Medinah to winning the America's Cup in 2013.

Ainslie's Oracle Team USA were 8-1 down against Emirates Team New Zealand in San Francisco Bay, but he skippered his boat to eight consecutive wins to snatch the title.
