Ryder Cup: Player ratings for the victorious USA team at Hazeltine

By Keith Jackson at Hazeltine

Last Updated: 03/10/16 2:26am

As Team USA celebrate their first Ryder Cup victory since 2008, we rate the impressive dozen at Hazeltine National.

Patrick Reed: P5 W3 L1 H1
Patrick Reed: P5 W3 L1 H1

Patrick Reed 9/10: Chief antagoniser and crowd whipper-upper, but he backed up his antics with some sublime golf. Strong all-round game, holed putts from all manor of distances, and gained a priceless point against Rory McIlroy in the lead-off singles.

Brandt Snedeker: P3 W3
Brandt Snedeker: P3 W3

Brandt Snedeker 9/10: Brilliant performance in his second Ryder Cup, winning all three of his matches. Two big victories with Brooks Koepka were followed by a dominant 3&1 triumph over Andy Sullivan, although he just missed out on the winning point.

Jordan Spieth: P5 W2 L2 H1
Jordan Spieth: P5 W2 L2 H1

Jordan Spieth 8/10: A year of inconsistency continued at Hazeltine, but his partnership with Reed was a key ingredient to Team USA's success. The pair put two and a half points on the board, but Spieth was no match for Henrik Stenson on Sunday.

Brooks Koepka: P4 W3 L1
Brooks Koepka: P4 W3 L1

Brooks Koepka 8/10: Very impressive debut. Won two matches with Snedeker, and cruised to a crushing victory over Willett. A birdie machine, his explosive game is ideal for the Ryder Cup.

Phil Mickelson: P4 W2 L1 H1
Phil Mickelson: P4 W2 L1 H1

Phil Mickelson 8/10: An inspiration for Team USA both on the course and behind the scenes. A key figure in the task force, two crucial wins over the first two days and then poured in 10 birdies in his unbelievable halved singles with Garcia.

Rickie Fowler: P3 W2 L1
Rickie Fowler: P3 W2 L1

Rickie Fowler 7/10: Clearly enjoyed playing with veteran Mickelson, and clearly a popular figure in the Team USA locker room. Justifed his wildcard pick with two points from three matches, including a crucial win over Justin Rose in the fourth singles match.

Zach Johnson: P3 W2 L1
Zach Johnson: P3 W2 L1

Zach Johnson 7/10: Used only in the foursomes, Johnson scored a big win with Jimmy Walker on Friday in the morning clean sweep. The team's victory was already assured by the time he finished off Matt Fitzpatrick 4&3 in the final match of the Ryder Cup.

Matt Kuchar: P4 W2 L2
Matt Kuchar: P4 W2 L2

Matt Kuchar 6/10: Up and down week for the dependable 'Kooch'. Partnered Dustin Johnson and Mickelson to victories, and he looked to be heading for a third point until being undone by a late Martin Kaymer comeback.

Ryan Moore: P3 W2 L1
Ryan Moore: P3 W2 L1

Ryan Moore 7/10: Only found out he was on the team last Sunday, and he proved a valuable asset on his Ryder Cup debut. After a shaky start on Friday, he earned his first point with JB Holmes in Saturday's fourballs and then had the privilege of clinching the point that won the Ryder Cup after a barnstorming finish against Lee Westwood.

Dustin Johnson: P4 W2 L2

Dustin Johnson 5/10: Not at the top of his game, perhaps affected by his poor final round at the Tour Championship last week. Mixed fortunes with Kuchar, but he did well to hold off Chris Wood on Sunday.

Jimmy Walker: P3 W1 L2
Jimmy Walker: P3 W1 L2

Jimmy Walker 5/10: A quiet week for the PGA champion. Big win with Zach Johnson in the opening session, lost his other foursomes and then ran into a red-hot Cabrera Bello on Sunday.

JB Holmes: P3 W1 L2
JB Holmes: P3 W1 L2

JB Holmes 4/10: Couldn't match the brilliance of his performance at Valhalla in his only previous Ryder Cup, but he did manage one win before being overpowered by an inspired Thomas Pieters.
