There has been plenty of eye-catching – and bone-crunching – action since the Tables, Ladders and Chairs extravaganza became a staple of the WWE calendar.

The sixth annual TLC event takes place in Cleveland on Sunday night, live on Sky Sports 1, with Superstars such as Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler set to wield weapons.

WWE’s current top crop will make Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2014 a must-see show when they compete in a series of exhilarating contests, including the inaugural Steel Stairs duel between the monstrous Erick Rowan and Big Show.

But if your mind is a little sketchy in regards to the previous five editions of WWE's pre-Christmas gala, where John Cena has been a fundamental figure, let us jog your memory.

TLC 2009

Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas

Main Event: Jeri-Show v D-Generation X - TLC Match for the WWE Tag Team Titles

Synopsis: Triple H and Shawn Michaels will go down as one of the most iconic duos in history but their victory over Chris Jericho and Big Show earned them their first - and only - reign as WWE Tag Team Champions. The Heart Break Kid scaled a ladder to retrieve the garlands hanging above the ring as his partner, The Game, held the metal structure steady. Christian also climbed high to keep the ECW Title within his grasp and out of Shelton Benjamin's, but the undoubted shock of the night saw Sheamus send John Cena crashing through a table to win his maiden WWE Championship. Elsewhere, World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker battered Batista in a Chairs Match to retain his gold, while, in no-frills singles encounters, Randy Orton overcame Kofi Kingston, Scottish fighter Drew McIntyre defeated John Morrison to win the Intercontinental Championship, and Divas champion Michelle McCool - with Layla's help - conquered fan favourite Mickie James.

TLC 2010

Where: Toyota Center, Houston, Texas

Main Event: John Cena v Wade Barrett - Chairs Match

Synopsis: Cena exacted revenge on long-time nemesis Barrett three years ago, not only by pinning the Brit, but also by sending a flotilla of chairs crashing on top of him to close out the show. Elsewhere, TLC veteran Edge braved the weaponry to defeat World Heavyweight Champion Kane, Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio in a frantic Fatal Four-Way, while in a Tables Match for the WWE Title, The Miz got the better of Orton. The Awesome One's next opponent was also decided as Morrison saw off the challenge of Sheamus in a Number One Contender's Ladder Match, plus Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov remained WWE Tag Team Champions when their dust-up with Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater was curtailed due to interference from the rest of Nexus. In addition, Dolph Ziggler conquered Kofi Kingston and Jack Swagger in an Intercontinental Title Ladder Match, and Natalya and Beth Phoenix clobbered Lay-Cool.

TLC 2011

Where: 1st Mariner Arena, Baltimore, Maryland

Main Event: CM Punk v Alberto Del Rio v The Miz - TLC Match for the WWE Title

Synopsis: Punk's beating of The Mexican Aristocrat and The Awesome One to keep his strap was memorable enough but perhaps the most long-lasting image of the TLC contest was when Del Rio's ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez, fell off a ladder and plummeted through
