Team Brunel have won legs 9 and 10 to set up a three-way tie in the Volvo Ocean Race

Team Brunel followed up their success in Leg 9 of the Volvo Ocean Race with victory in Leg 10 between Cardiff and Gothenburg to leave a three-way tie at the top of the overall leaderboard.

Skipper Bouwe Bekking led his team to a win over Xabi Fernandez's MAPFRE squad, who claimed second place, less than two minutes behind.

The results mean MAPFRE and Team Brunel it joint-top of the leaderboard with 65 points, although MAPFRE are ranked in first place as they led the In-Port Race Series, which acts as a tie-break for the race.

Dongfeng Race Team are a point further back in third position, although an additional bonus point for best elapsed time will be added after the Leg 11 finish, effectively means they are level on points with the teams above them ahead of the 11th and final leg from Gothenburg to The Hague which gets underway on June 21.

In leg 10, the second Dutch skipper, Simeon Tienpont, and his team AkzoNobel secured another podium finish in third place.

Turn the Tide on Plastic battled hard to take fifth place, having briefly edged ahead of Dongfeng only to lose out to them in the end.

Vestas 11th Hour Racing came home sixth, with SHK / Scallywag a little way back in seventh.
