World Snooker Championship 2026 results as Wu Yize beats Shaun Murphy in Crucible final

Defending champion Zhao Xintong failed to avoid the 'Crucible Curse' with defeat to Shaun Murphy in the quarter-finals of the World Championship; Ronnie O'Sullivan was knocked out in the second round by John Higgins and world No 1 Judd Trump also lost in the last 16

The 2026 World Snooker Championship concluded with Wu Yize beating Shaun Murphy 18-17 in a thrilling Crucible final.

Murphy had fought back to knock out John Higgins in the semi-finals, while Wu overcame Mark Allen in a dramatic decider in the other semi to reach the final.

Defending champion Zhao Xintong was beaten by Murphy in the quarter-finals, while seven-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan lost 13-12 to Higgins in the second round.
