Spencer Dinwiddie erupted for 37 points to lead the Brooklyn Nets to a 134-132 double-overtime win over the Charlotte Hornets.
Dinwiddie's haul marked the second time this month he has posted 30+ points in a Nets win - he racked up 39 in their 127-124 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on December 12.
Against Charlotte, Dinwiddie shot 12-of-29, including 7-of-16 from three-point land, and handed out 11 assists to help Brooklyn to their ninth win in their last 10 games.
Dinwiddie, already a strong contender for the league's Sixth Man award, saved his best play for crunch time. With the Nets trailing by eight with three minutes left in the game, he dragged them back into contention with a three-pointer from the top of the key.
He then drained three free throws with 6.5 seconds remaining to help send the game into overtime and repeated the trick in the first extra period, connecting to two vital foul shots with 22.7 seconds remaining to force another five-minute session.
Dinwiddie converted a four-point play to open the second overtime and set up Jared Dudley and Joe Harris for baskets that extended the Nets lead to six. He then connected with a vital turnaround jumper with 1:20 remaining as the Hornets battled back once more before Joe Harris' sealed a memorable Nets win with a steal and fast-break lay-up with 3.4 seconds remaining.
