Andre Iguodala produced an elite defensive play while guarding Damian Lillard in the final seconds to seal the Golden State Warriors' Game 2 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Blazers, having surrendered a 15-point half-time lead, trailed by three points but had the ball on the game's final possession, knowing a three-pointer would force overtime.
Portland threw the ball to their All-Star guard Lillard, their leading scorer on the night and no stranger to hitting high-pressure shots at the end of games.
Former NBA Finals MVP Iguodala, starting in place of the injured Kevin Durant, picked up Lillard at halfcourt, tracking his man as the Blazers guard dribbled towards the left sideline.
The game clock had ticked down to 5.5 seconds when Iguodala disrupted Lillard's dribble with an attempted steal.
The Portland guard then rose to launch a potential game-tying three but before he could even raise the ball above his head Iguodala wrenched the ball away and shuttled a pass to Stephen Curry who launched a halfcourt shot that was still airborne as the final buzzer sounded, sealing a 114-111 win for Golden State and earning them a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals series.
Speaking on court after the game, Curry paid tribute to the veteran Iguodala: "Look at Andre. Offensively, it was a rough game but he made the biggest play on defense and that's what he was celebrating because he knows how important that was in helping us win."
