England drawn with Scotland in 2019 Netball World Cup Group D

England and Scotland will meet in the group stage of the 2019 Netball World Cup after the draw was made in Nottingham on Saturday.

Commonwealth gold medallists England and the Scots will compete in Group D alongside Uganda and Samoa in the tournament which takes place in Liverpool next July.

Northern Ireland were handed a tough draw after they were pulled out in Group A alongside world No 1 Australia, along with Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.

The top three teams in each group progress to a second group stage.

The two best sides in the two groups of six in the second phase of matches will then progress to the semi-finals.

England returned to action with a record-breaking 52-39 victory over New Zealand to start the Quad Series in perfect style.
