NFL Fantasy tips for Week 14
Friday 11 December 2015 13:57, UK
This week things are going to be pretty interesting with no teams on a bye week and the play-offs closing in.
Last week's fantasy heroes - Antonio Brown, Allen Robinson and Cam Newton - could quite easily be replaceable, but really, I'm looking for a good running back to help me get more than the 124 points that I got last week.
Here are your fantasy tips for Week 14…
Quarterback: Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers)
Newton started cold against New Orleans and then exploded into life, and against Atlanta I anticipate more of a shoot-out type game against Matt Ryan and a Falcons team desperate to get back into the play-off hunt. One of Newton's fortes is running the ball. Which is good, considering Atlanta gives up the second-most TDs to rushers in the league. If you are desperate to spend all $4m of your budgeted quarterback money, go for some guy called Tom Brady. I hear he's quite good.
Running back: Doug Martin (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
With all the love being shown to Jameis Winston, no one has really talked about the sterling job of Martin, who is posting 90+ rushing yards seemingly every week right now. With New Orleans trying to stop the Winston-Mike Evans connection, Martin could hit pay dirt.
Running back: Thomas Rawls (Seattle Seahawks)
Rawls has played brilliantly this year, but it's somewhat of a risk for him going against a very good Baltimore defence. Our other big choice was Todd Gurley, but with the quarterback play so repugnant, Detroit's 'D' will be able to shut him down more than you would expect from the league's worst rushing defence.
Wide Receiver: Allen Robinson (Jacksonville Jaguars)
Robinson had a marquee day in Week 13, catching three touchdowns. And with Indianapolis not being great at defending receivers, we fancy Robinson for a couple more in what will be a shoot-out.
Wide Receiver: Odell Beckham Jr (New York Giants)
Odell Beckham Jr has been as fantastic as his defensive team-mates have not been during the fourth quarter of games this year. He's playing against a Miami defence that's given up the fourth-most touchdowns this year.
Tight end: Tyler Eifert (Cincinnati Bengals)
Andy Dalton's top touchdown target is back after a neck stinger against a Pittsburgh defence that's not been great against tight ends this season. If he's not, go for Julius Thomas, the Jacksonville Jaguars TE, who has been in Blake Bortles' passing plans lately.
Defence: New York Jets
It's hard not to like a Jets defence which should be getting Darrelle Revis back into the fold against a Tennessee offence that - despite having a fantastic day last week - really isn't that good.
Kicker: Cairo Santos (Kansas City Chiefs)
Santos has had some fantastic days for the Chiefs, and we're praying that this will be another case of him hitting three or four 30-40 yard field goals.
