The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without starting running back DeAngelo Williams when they open their play-off campaign on Saturday.

Williams was injured in the Steelers' regular season finale against the Cleveland Browns last Sunday, sustaining a problem with his right foot.

The 32-year-old tied for the NFL lead with 11 touchdowns after taking the starting role when Le'Veon Bell was ruled out for the season with a serious knee injury.

Williams' absence means the Steelers will go with the untried pairing of Fitzgerald Toussaint and Jordan Todman when they face the Cincinnati Bengals for the third time this season.

Toussaint, who is expected to be the starter, had 18 carries all season for 42 yards, while special teams player Todman rushed for 22 yards on four carries.

"He is a diligent worker," Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said of Toussaint. "He brings a business-like approach.

"He's one of those guys that everybody is excited about seeing play. He really works hard to put himself in position to be a positive asset or contributor to us when given the opportunity."
