A technician carrying a parabolic microphone decided to run across the front of the Vikings' tunnel - and then the players ran out.

The technician, working for the Fox television team, appeared to be preparing himself to capture sound from the Vikings players' entrance when he crossed the front of the tunnel.

He didn't know it at the time, but the players, led by defensive linemen Brian Robison and Linval Joseph, were running out of the tunnel and taking the field.

Robison tried to stop, but still drove his right knee into the mic that the man was carrying. That sent the man tumbling in front of Joseph, who bulldozed him and sent him landing directly on his back.

Three other Vikings players looked on in concern before the entrances continued. It was curious timing for the man to make a move, considering the production of smoke, steam and snow had begun.

Television cameras later showed the man was OK and was able to work the game, though his glasses were cracked.

"This man is tough," commentator Joe Buck said.
