San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has dismissed reports he is “on an island” in the team’s locker room.

The 49ers have endured a difficult start to the season under new head coach Jim Tomsula, finding themselves with a 2-5 record after seven games.

A report from Jay Glazer of Fox Sports stated Kaepernick had lost his confidence and was struggling to connect with his team-mates in the locker room.

A clear-the-air players-only meeting was held this week and tempers became frayed, according to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com.

Maiocco revealed that tight end Vernon Davis called out Kaepernick and tackle Joe Staley took up for his quarterback. Per Maiocco, the "exchange became heated and may have even gotten physical."

Kaepernick addressed the media at his locker room in the wake of the reports.

When asked if he was isolated from his team-mates or if he was the scapegoat for the team's 2-5 start, he answered, "I really hope not.

"For me, I give everything I can to this organization, I give everything I can to my team-mates to try and help us win, to try and help us moving forward.

"I have a great relationship with my team-mates. That's a situation I don't understand the agenda who's saying that or what the source is."

Seattle Seahawks beat the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7 to end their run of two straight defeats

San Francisco are averaging just 185 yards passing per game in 2015 (second worst in the league) but wide receiver Torrey Smith insists the team are not placing the blame for the 49ers' rough start on Kaepernick's shoulders.

"We're losing. It's tough. It's frustrating," Smith said. "But it's not dividing the team at all. It's not separating Kap.

"Kap isn't on a damn island, or whatever someone says. We're here together, trying to win together."
