Jerry Angelo has been fired as general manager of the Chicago Bears and offensive co-ordinator Mike Martz is leaving of his own accord.
Changes in Chicago after late-season collapse
Jerry Angelo has been fired as general manager of the Chicago Bears at the end of a disappointing season.
Angelo had been with the franchise since 2001 and led the team to four divisional titles, but the 2011-12 campaign ended badly.
The Bears looked to be a strong play-off contender when they opened the season with a 7-3 record.
But a season-ending injury to quarterback Jay Cutler, with no quality among their reserves, and then the loss of running back Matt Forte saw them finish the year 8-8.
Offensive co-ordinator Mike Martz, whose contract was due to expire, is not returning for a third season.
But Bears head coach Lovie Smith is being retained for his ninth season in charge.
