Peyton Manning led a league-best nine Denver Broncos players who were voted into the NFL Pro Bowl game.
The 38-year-old quarterback, who is hoping to steer Denver towards playoff success, was among a strong Broncos contingent in the preliminary line-up for the annual all-star game on January 25. It is the 14th time Manning has been selected to the game.
Two of Manning's favourite targets, receiver Demaryius Thomas and tight end Julius Thomas, were also included in the selection plans.
Ryan Clady, Chris Harris, Von Miller, Aqib Talib, TJ Ward and DeMarcus Ware were the other Denver players voted in.
Hall of Fame receivers Cris Carter and Michael Irvin will serve as alumni captains for the matchup at University of Phoenix Stadium, where the Super Bowl will be staged a week later.
Players will be divided into teams in a draft format by the captains, but the two Super Bowl teams will not take part in the fixture.
Jacksonville, Minnesota, Tennessee and the New York Giants did not have any representatives in the initial list, but new players could be called upon due to injuries and playoff commitments.
New England quarterback Tom Brady was named to his 10th Pro Bowl and was among five Patriots selected.
Other quarterbacks chosen include Tony Romo of Dallas, Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck of Indianapolis and Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger.
