Aaron Rodgers unable to believe Green Bay's capitulation in Seattle

Aaron Rodgers feels Green Bay's heart-breaking defeat in Seattle could prove tough to forget over the rest of his career.

The Packers fell 28-22 in overtime to the Seahawks in the NFC Championship game after leading 19-7 with less than four minutes remaining.

They gave up rushing touchdowns to Russell Wilson, who had earlier thrown four interceptions, and Marshawn Lynch and had to rely on Mason Crosby's fifth field goal of the game to even take the game to overtime.

But Wilson, who looked a different quarterback in the closing stages, found Jermaine Kearse for the vital score to earn the Seahawks the chance to defend their Super Bowl crown in Arizona on February 1 against the New England Patriots.

"It's going to be a missed opportunity that I'm probably going to think about the rest of my career," Rodgers said.

"We were the better team today and we played well enough to win and we can't blame anybody but ourselves.

"This one is going to hurt for a while. We gave it away.

"We were confident we would win the game and we started off and had some good drives, put some things together. The defense played great, picked them off four times and forced another turnover on special teams.

"But you just can't let them complete a pass for a touchdown on a fake field goal. You can't give up an onside kick and you can't not get any first downs in the fourth quarter and expect to win.

"Putting that all together is how you lose games and opportunity. We were right on the cusp."
