Remembering Prince's half-time Super Bowl show

I had the honour of seeing Prince play his half-time Super Bowl show in Miami in 2007, before the Indianapolis Colts defeated the Chicago Bears.
Press conferences during Super Bowl media week weren't the most exciting things in the world. Truth be told, most press members didn't particularly like attending them and, towards the end of the week, it was a battle for them to stay awake.
Anyway, word got round that Prince would be performing the 2007 Super Bowl half-time show, and you could sense the excitement when reporters thought they could throw questions at him. I suspected one of them - probably from me - might have been, 'what advice would you give Peyton Manning?'
Prince took the stage dressed in all-red with two dancers and a band. "Contrary to rumours, I'd like to take a few questions right now," he said. A journalist stood up, asked his question, and immediately Prince and his band exploded into 'Johnny B. Goode'. The place erupted.
Super Bowl XLI was played in abysmal weather conditions and the rainstorm intensified when Prince played the song that I'd wanted to hear for a while, 'Purple Rain'.
